13th Pisces
...13th Pisces...
Pisces, such a fascinating sign. Two Fish swimming in opposite directions, constantly pulling on each other, and constantly pushing each other...to great heights, to greater depths.
Bipolar...two polarities, constantly pulling at each other, constantly pushing each other, to greater heights, to great depths.
Colorful, brilliant, creative bliss...yet dark...but a comforting dark, for those that have shared in those waters.
The reds, yellows and blues are all representative of sound, of flow, or Boldness. I like the playfulness of the Pisces, one pushes, on swims around and within, but always opposite. It is a wicked combination of all 12 signs, hyper aware of the world, hypersensitive to what goes on, emotional, creative...and shares much with the Creative Process of Bipolar. Neither one can be helped...we are born when we are born, with what we are born with. It's great when the double whammie of it, is literally a double hit to the spirit.

BurN
Burn.
I remember mixing yellow, mixing blue, more yellow, darker...bolder...trying to get this ancient color, something I wouldn't see in every day color around me. So I started out with this odd green. This odd blue. Almost seems a little of both, just showing through on the edges.
I found it. I want rusted, I want decayed, but I want some 'hope' in it too.
I gobbed a crazy shade of orange-red-yellow on a square small canvas, pushed it to the center, twisted it with my hand, dipped the canvas square back into a smeared patch of rusted leftover everything, and scratched around the sun...around the hope.
Then I finished. Of course I always want to mess with things after I get them to look like I want them to look, JUST TO SEE if I can come up with anything else that soothes me like this does. But I resisted that urge. It was worth it...now it's hanging on my studio wall, which is a crazy olive green color, it belongs there....but it's time to pass it on, as is the intention of this.
8x11 inches.
Acrylic.
No Frame included...none necessary...this one is ready to be hung as is.
Colors may vary slightly...very slightly. No flash, natural light for the photograph.

Useless Sun-Suzen JueL
USELESS SUN
16x20 inches
Acrylic
...
I have always felt a sudden sense of sad when the sun disappears behind the clouds, especially if this goes on for days. My favorite thing in winter, is that one last bright yellow leaf that clings to the tree. Or a certain warmth created by a flame, a fireplace, or the orange and red colors of the leaves on a rainy day.
The sun isn't there...but the illusion is.
...
Frame is not included. Colors may vary slightly between photo and actual canvas painting.
...
Will Look Best in a deep wooden frame, a turquoise frame (or a hint of turquoise in the frame itself). Also an iron black or deep rusted color would also look spectacular. If you want a protective gloss sprayed on it, I will gladly do it, the gloss often intensifies the color as well.

Artoustic
As an "artist" type person...which I'm not really sure what exactly that means, I guess I've been known to paint, to consume art in life visually, to feel and see. It means I'm living out an experience, through color, through the only self expression I may have to get Out of me, what is inside.
I used to think an 'Artist' was someone who took courses, learned, studied...but that is one type, yes...and thank god for the teachers who teach art. My teacher was just what I saw around me, emotional teaching, I guess one could call it. Noticing over the years, it's often when I'm frustrated, that I paint, but I also paint to create a sense of balance, of peace, in an otherwise Chaotic world. It can focus me, it can heal me, in fact it does both and it happens every time I create Art, or Music, or Poetry.
Yes, I studied it, because I had some interest in what others did, and have always been drawn heavily toward Pablo Picasso, it was the color use in his paintings that sucked me in, they were everything good and I always feel a sense of Peace when I look at his paintings. Kinda like when I listen to Blues, or Folk, everything inside me just falls into place, it's just the way it makes me feel. I don't have to understand it...because the biggest accomplishment in art or music or in ANYTHING for that matter, is how it expresses itself, as it is....it's all left to interpretation after that.
On this page you will find various art that I have done, most of which is sold on the grid of Second Life (tm) at my Parcel in Artopolis. My little parcel there is called Artoustic, which is why I am calling the Blog by that name. Acoustic Songwriting and Art are the things I find much healing in, and as long as I can keep writing music and lyrics, and stroking my brush, or pressing ink into sketchy white paper, as long as I can express, I will have it up for those interested, to view....as much as a Camera allows me to bring it in...you'll see it.
Some of my original pieces will be for sale, however if you are interested in any particular one, please Leave me a message about the one you are inquiring about, and I'll get back to you with details. Each photo of a piece I have created will have a small detailed description on size, medium used etc....
Be patient please, this page is under construction until I find my groove. What can YOU do to help? Spread the word!!! Link my site to yours, let people know there is Original Art here, and perhaps they may like what they see or know someone who might.
Music is one of the biggest inspirations in my art. I see sound as colors and shapes, so painting to particular music can be quite inspiring, as are emotional states, as I had mentioned, I often find myself painting to find that balance and sense of peace, when things around me can be overwhelming or chaotic...this is home, it's the best place I can go, when the rest of the world doesn't make sense anymore. We all have a spot somewhere in our worlds, in our heads, that we gotta call home, because no matter what happens around you, you can always count on being able to express it out...in words, poetry, song....any way that your soul knows, because whatever heals you, is often your own personal gift...and if you get a chance to share it....By All Means!
